The Stuck Woman's Guide To Moving Forward

If you've ever felt stuck, you're not alone.

In fact, one of the most common things I hear from women in midlife is:

"I know something needs to change, but I don't know where to start."

They're not lazy, unmotivated or broken.

They're overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed by the number of decisions, by the pressure to get it right, by trying to change everything at once.

And so they do nothing.

Not because they don't care.

Because they're stuck.

I know this because I've been her.

The Stuck Woman.

The woman who knew there were parts of her life she wanted more from.

More energy.

More confidence.

More joy.

More connection.

More purpose.

But instead of making changes, I stayed busy.

I worked harder.

Did another qualification.

Focused on another goal.

Told myself I'd deal with the bigger questions later.

Until life eventually forced me to stop and listen.

The truth is that moving forward rarely requires a dramatic reinvention.

Most of the time, it begins with one small step.

That's why I created The Expansion Method.

Five simple pillars designed to help women reconnect with themselves one decision at a time.

1. Nourish

The Stuck Woman often believes she needs more discipline.

Most of the time, she needs more nourishment.

Not just physically.

Emotionally too.

This week, choose one nourishing action.

It could be:

  • Eating a protein-rich breakfast every morning

  • Drinking more water

  • Taking a proper lunch break

  • Spending ten minutes outside in nature

Pick one.

Not five.

One.

2. Train

Movement creates momentum.

Not because it burns calories.

Because it reminds us we're capable.

Strong. Alive.

This week, choose one training action.

It could be:

  • Two strength sessions

  • A twenty-minute walk each day

  • A yoga class

  • Dancing around the kitchen to your favourite song

The goal isn't perfection.

It's movement.

3. Recover

Many women don't need to push harder.

They need to recover better.

Recovery is where resilience is built.

This week, choose one recovery action.

It could be:

  • Going to bed thirty minutes earlier

  • Reducing caffeine after midday

  • Taking five minutes to breathe

  • Creating a simple evening routine

Small actions create big shifts.

4. Reframe

The most powerful thing about life isn't what happens to us.

It's the story we tell ourselves about what happens to us.

The Stuck Woman often tells herself:

"I can't."

"It's too late."

"Nothing ever changes."

This week, choose one thought to challenge.

Ask yourself:

"What else could be true?"

One new perspective can change everything.

5. Rise

Rising doesn't require certainty.

It requires courage.

This is the pillar where we stop waiting.

Waiting until we're ready, confident or until life settles down.

This week, choose one brave action.

Send the email.

Book the trip.

Sign up for the class.

Have the conversation.

Take the first step.

The goal isn't to know exactly how everything unfolds.

The goal is simply to begin.

Here's What I Want You To Remember

Don't try to change your life this week.

Don't overhaul your routine.

Don't create a twenty-step plan.

Pick one pillar.

Choose one action.

Repeat it for seven days.

That's it.

Because transformation doesn't happen through massive leaps.

It happens through small, consistent actions repeated over time.

And those small actions are often enough to remind you that you're not stuck after all.

You're simply one decision away from moving forward.
